BIO-REMEDIATION

The Health and Wellness Foundation has affiliated itself with a Bio-Remediation company with exceptional credentials and experience in cleaning ground and water utilizing microbes.  Due to the various environmental problems encountered in third world countries or countries such as in the Caribbean experiencing serious and devastating hurricanes, a basic necessity is a sanitary environment.   Therefore an affiliation was developed with a company that could resolve the problem. A description of the company is as follows.  For the purposes herein, the company will be referred to as “Remediation Services” (RS)

Executive Summary

RS is a privately held company with offices in the U.S. and throughout the world.  RS manufactures, utilizes, and supplies innovative bioremediation products and services worldwide.  Their consortium of scientists and other experts have over fifty years of national and international experience in the field of bioremediation and microbiology.

Currently, RS has the ability to successfully break down over sixty contaminates.  RS specializes in the remediation of hydrocarbons, MTBE, PCE, PCB, and pesticides.  RS bioremediation’s process provides a viable, cost effective and innovative means to re-mediate many surface/sub-surface soil/groundwater situations.  Petroleum hydrocarbons, (gasoline, fuels, MTBE's and oils), PCE and its breakdown products are particularly amenable to bioremediation through the application of a blend of cometabolic, facultative, microaerophilic microorganisms, nutrients and oxygen.


RS methods and products have been approved by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and EPA's approved product schedule as an innovative technology for both in-situ and ex-situ bioremediation of petroleum, chlorinated solvents, organic pesticides, and other contaminants in ground water and soil.

There are "TWO" significant factors that set RS apart from other bioremediation firms and methods:

1) RS inoculates soil and water through injections or bioreactors at a concentration of 100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion) viable microbes per gram of contaminant with the property of co-metabolism of multiple wide spectrum hydrocarbons oxidizing enzyme systems.  RS has the ability to aerobically, decompose chlorinated and non-chlorinated related compounds to their intermediate mitadlytes.

2) RS has the catalyst necessary to convert H2O to atomic oxygen by cometabolic microorganisms.  As the biological consumption of oxygen is probably the most limiting factor to the degradation of the contaminants in the environment, a slow constant supply of oxygen availability, rather than a quick, one time burst, is the most beneficial to the microorganisms.  This is accomplished by mixing the microbial consortium with the liquid oxygenated catalyst.  The primary objective of the microbial formula is to apply a synergistic colony of naturally occurring microorganisms, which feed directly on petroleum hydrocarbons or other contaminants, and recycle them into fatty acids and ultimately carbon, carbon dioxide and water.  The RS microbes can be, and are bred to remediate specific and/or collective pollutants.

The RS method is 100% environmentally safe.  No waste or by-products are generated during the bioremediation process, which require disposal or special handling of any kind.  Residual products, if any are beneficial to the environment.  Example: On open water spills the by-product is fatty acids that marine life will ingest as food.  On land, the by-product becomes a first class fertilizer.  The bioremediation process will result in contaminant/toxicity reduction at a level to satisfy requirements, and end the need for active remediation.

RS is currently preparing for upcoming projects in Venezuela.  The major project is the clean up of Lake Maracaibo. The total cost to complete this site (including social programs and building an infrastructure), will be approximately Eleven and a half billion dollars US, the clean up of the lake will total Seven and a half billion dollars US.  RS will provide the technology and products, all other aspects including labor will be subcontracted to the people of Venezuela.

RS is working with Fundicion Venezuela, ICLAIM, Petro Venezuela (PDVSA), and the Ministers of Environment, Agriculture and Health to complete this project.
