PHOTOTHERAPY A LIFE SAVING FORM OF TREATMENT
PRESENTED BY DR. DAN FERNANDEZ

PROLOGUE

First and foremost I would like to thank The Health and Wellness Organization for believing in us and granting us the privilege of presenting our findings on their website. I would also like to send a special thanks to Mr. Robert Distefano and Mr. Robert Nelson for having introduced me to the art of phototherapy.  I hope you find this presentation educational, insightful and informative.

PCI Therapy Defined - Photonic Corpuscular Irradiation Therapy

The process of exposing a small amount of blood in a controlled sterile chamber to ultraviolet rays.
The blood is irradiated while passing through a sterile, flat, cylindrical channel known as a cuvette.
The blood never comes into contact with the ambient.

FUNCTION

Like any other form of therapy the success of PCI is dependant on dosage,
and The curative potential of PCI is derived from the belief that human blood cells can be activated and/or stimulated while exposed to ultraviolet irradiation.

THE HISTORY OF PCI

NIELS FINSEN - FATHER OF PHOTOTHERAPY:

Won Nobel Prize in Physiology & Medicine in 1903

“In recognition of his contribution to the treatment of diseases, especially Lupus Vulgaris, with concentrated light radiation, whereby he has opened a new avenue for medical science“

Dr. Finsen’s contribution to medicine is unparallel. He treated 300 patients with Lupus Vulgaris and demonstrated, 100% success rates.
Even today, we have nothing in our arsenal of medications that can produce such results.
Imagine the cure to an Auto-Immune Disease 100 years ago and no one noticed.

Lester Edblom and Emmet Knott

Lester Edblom, medical student and Dr. Emmet Knott scientist, developed the first Hemo-Irradiator, vacuum extraction system and cuvette.

The first Patent was issued in the USA for a UV-Irradiator. September 11, 1928.

Thousands of people were treated between the 1930’s up to 1959 with a 98% success rate.

Patent. Figs: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 detail the, extraction and dilution process, the Cuvette, Irradiation Chamber, some Tubing and an Adaptor.
